I’ve always enjoyed Call of Duty, regardless of whether players use cheats or not. However, in its current state, the franchise feels stagnant. It seems as though the developers have accepted the game’s gradual decline rather than striving to innovate or revive interest.
After trying Black Ops 7, I found very little to get excited about. Of course, this is just my personal perspective, but Battlefield 6 feels far more engaging by comparison. In fact, I’d be much more inclined to invest in Battlefield 6 than in another Call of Duty installment.
I don’t believe cheats were ever the true downfall of Call of Duty — the issue lies within its content and direction. The developers appear to focus more on cosmetic design and weapon aesthetics than on meaningful gameplay improvements or creative depth. Black Ops 7 seems to represent yet another attempt to capitalize financially on a loyal player base rather than deliver something genuinely fresh.
I welcome any differing opinions, as I’m genuinely interested in how others view the current state of the series. To me, Call of Duty has become the gaming equivalent of the iPhone 17 Pro Max — a familiar product with minimal innovation and little to look forward to.
That said, I’m truly looking forward to GTA 6; it’s one of the few upcoming titles that feels like it could reignite genuine excitement in gaming.
