Do Cheat Codes Still Have a Place in Modern Gaming?

    Hey everyone,

I’ve been feeling a bit nostalgic lately and started thinking about the old days of gaming when cheat codes were everywhere like infinite lives, secret levels, or unlocking hidden characters with just a button combo.

Nowadays, it feels like most modern games don’t really include cheats anymore, or they get replaced by microtransactions, mods, or DLC. Do you think cheat codes still belong in today’s gaming culture, or have they outlived their purpose?

Would you like to see them make a comeback, or do you prefer games without those kinds of shortcuts?

It's not 2005 anymore; there have been 20 years of evolution in programming that takes place in today's game source code and anti-cheats. As a result, the features you mentioned are now protected on the server side, making it easier to detect if someone were to reverse code it.
However, you can find cheats like this in single-player games that have no anti-cheat measures, and trainers for them are also available.

For single player games you mean?? if this is the case they are called game trainers and there are sites also dedicated to offer it, just like this one but for single player games, i do use one of the few there are, like for example, unlimited jumps, no damage, god mode etc on games like Hollow knight: Silk Song

PS: Sorry for bumping up this, did not see the date and can´t find an option to delete the post, sry
